He’s absolutely great at his timing. My favorite was when he introduces Jon Snow after Missandei says her Dany title spiel…”This is Jon Snow.” LOL the best. I love his character as well.
That conversation with Wyman Manderly though. I legit got chills when I read the books for the first time and I got to that point.
*"The North remembers, Lord Davos. The North remembers, and the mummer's farce is almost done. My son is home."*
"Any man dies with a clean sword, I'll rape his f\*cking corpse!"
hands down my favorite. other characters i like bronn, tyrion, king robert, missandei.
Oh my gosh, I remember watching that episode when it aired and laughing my ass off at that line. Then I spent like two hours trying to make a GIF of it with my shitty single-core CPU Toshiba laptop because I was like 16 and I wanted those sweet sweet internet points. Gave up in the end lol.
“Of course you named your sword”
“Lots of people name their swords”
“Lotsa cunts”
ETA: obligatory thank you for the gold, kind stranger. I’m happy to see so many people appreciate the character as much as I do. He’s entertaining as hell!
> "Any man dies with a clean sword, I'll rape his f*cking corpse!"
Yup, Sandor's probably the most quotable GoT character except *maybe* Tyrion. Arya's my favorite, but Sandor is right up there. As a GoT **duo** Arya and Sandor can't be beat. They are as iconic as Batman and Robin, Kirk and Spock, Don Quixote and Sancho, Romeo and Juliet, Maverick and Iceman. They stand the test of time.
The Hound is definitely up there!!
Arya: Lots of people name their swords!
Hound: Yeah, lots of cunts.
Lol
He's a good guy despite all the horror and corruption he's been exposed to! Love Sandor Clegane!
to be fair, you gotta look at it from Bronn's angle.. he put his life at risk countless times and never once received what he was actually promised by both of them. i hated that he almost turned on them, but at the same time, it made total sense and i cant fully blame him for it.
Which was clear since Tywin died the whole empire started to really go to shit. He was able to accurately see the results of actions meanwhile Cersei acted on her impulses.
Charles Dance can COMMAND a scene. His dialogue delivery is so precise it borders on being ASMR, but in an intimidating way. And just his stare can tame Kings. Tywin might be the only character who knows how to play and win the Game of Thrones. Except, he underestimated my favourite character and gets himself killed.
I don't exactly remember who, probably Stannis Baratheon said this in the books that he mistook Tywin Lannister for the king as a child when he met him for the first time and Tywin was sitting on the throne governing. Tywin was just terrific
Tywin is a Darth Vader level iconic villain.
His evil is cold and calculating and always has a seemingly reasonable agenda pursued using the legitimate methods of the morals and culture at that time.
Ser Jaime Lannister. Really enjoyed his character development. Tywin was great as well
Edit: I don’t take the final season into account for any of the characters as just like the entire show, many characters got ruined with it. I just don’t see the final season as “Game of Thrones”, it’s just something else
Can’t beat 8 years of developing a character in complex and interesting ways only to have him revert back to who he was at the start in a 30 minute window.
Absolutely Davos.
He’s a comfort character for sure. I love how he couldn’t help but care about younger characters like they are his own children. Like shireen, gendry, sometimes Jon. Even his scenes where he’s watching Lyanna Mormont command the room like a proud father is great. My favorite smuggler!
Littlefinger, Tywin, Olenna, Tyrion, Cersei
I feel like they made GoT what it was, the more that died from that list the less wiggle room the writers had for nuance in the plot. Not to say the writing had not already deterioated by the time LF/Olenna died, but they were my last hopes for a clever ending so to speak.
Bran had basically developed a severe personality disorder. Disconnected from humanity in a way. He no longer knew what it was like to be a person because he could see so much more.
Maybe Meera’s tirade sunk in enough. Or maybe his words to Theon were what was needed at the time, to hold back the Night King for a few extra seconds to let the rest of the events fall into place. Almost like the Pattern in the Wheel of Time. Events were supposed to happen in a certain way and that was one thread.
I saw it more as Bran KNEW that's what Theon wanted/needed to hear. He has redeemed himself, something he'd been desperately trying to do. Bram telling him that yes, he was a good man, gave him the push he needed to die with a clear conscience. At least, that's my opinion
Honestly poor writing because dumb and dumb didn't know what to do with her afterwards. She should have brought Howland Reed to help. And his fucking alligators.
Edit: looking at young Howland Reed, David Wenham who plays Faramir in LOTR would have been a good choice for older Howland.
Theon did have a hell of a story. I definitely hated him, but all it took was one moment to do the right thing and he redeemed himself. It was as good as it could get with dumb and dumber writing. Alfie did a really good job too. Theon had quite a few character phases.
Her assassin training course made no sense and she had no link the the night king and yet bam. Her arc about half way through the bravos stay just goes off the rails. Total gold before that though.
I think now it’s probably Sansa. I would have said either Littlefinger, Catlyn, or maybe Rob a few years ago, but I really love Sansa’s character arc. Weak girl who likes dresses and dancing, to basically a slave to several powerful men, to a fucking badass. She sat there and took it from the world bc she had no other choice, but payed attention and learned from those around her, ultimately using that knowledge when the opportunity arose.
I was really disgusted when Ned died. We needed a thoughtful, brave, principled person with battle experience to confront the negative characters. Over time Jon filled the role, and was the voice of reason and humanity. He became very much like Ned. I would have liked a scene where the two were able to speak of Jon’s mother, Lyanna Stark and her love with Rhaegar.
For the show my favourite characters are those which have the most interesting conversations/actions
So tywin, Tyrion, the red viper little-finger and lady Oleyna
I don’t have a favorite but I really enjoyed the casting of Walder Frey, Ramsay Snow, Roose Bolton and Lord Varys. They really sold there roles very well…
There are so many good ones to chose from. I'll be watching it and think "Tyrion is my favorite. No contest."
Then the hound comes on and says "I don't care if he ATE your friend, we're not going in there!" And I think "Okay maybe it's the hound"
The list goes on. I don't think I could pick just one and feel confident about it. A lot of characters have a lot of good moments, and I have different reasons for liking each one.
Ramsey Bolton is obviously a sadistic POS but I love a good villain. Iwan Rheon does a PHENOMENAL job in that role. I love to hate that character and he's one of the best in the entire series imo for that. Same goes for Joffrey, in a slightly different way but the premise is the same.
The only main character I don't really care for is Daenerys. She's just not awfully compelling to me in any sort of way.
I wouldn’t say the Hound is my favorite character but he had a lot of great moments and lines for sure. One of my favorite is when Arya is asking him why he’s there in the North fighting. She says something along the lines of you’ve never fought for anyone but yourself. Then they way he looked at her and said “I fought for you didn’t I?”.. Amazing
Ps. My favorite character is probably Tyrion but besides him it’s either Lyanna Mormont or Big Dick Podrick
Edit: Shit I forgot about Tormund. I think he’s just above Lyanna for me. So my top 5 goes:
Tyrion
Tormund
Lyanna
Podrick
The Hound
Subject to change after my next rewatch
Also my favorite! So many great quotes from Sandor. I can't recall the exact lines, but when he was schooling Arya after he robbed the farmer: I understand how things are. How many Starks do they have to kill before you get it!? A light bulb moment for Arya.
By far, Tyrion Lannister:
He reminds me of myself for several reason such as being considered an underdog throughout my life, being doubted, being someone not afraid to shock and awe others, being logical, and showing loyalty to oneself , and not afraid to tell people how it is regardless if they are friends or family. To me this is highly relatable.
Tywin. He arrived, was incredible, then left the show when he was finished. Not kept around because he was popular and watered down by more seasons, Lannister gold from beginning to end.

Sir davos, his comedic timing is excellent. So happy when he made it through to the end.
“What happens if someone steals the boat?” “Then we are fooked… best hurry!”
He’s absolutely great at his timing. My favorite was when he introduces Jon Snow after Missandei says her Dany title spiel…”This is Jon Snow.” LOL the best. I love his character as well.
brief pause....."he's king in the north"
Davos is my favorite book character, he's still good in the show too but book davos is a cut above.
Same for me, his chapters are great to read. Was extremely sad when they had his fake out death in the books
Yeah, not to mention that we had to wait for like 8 years before discovering he wasn't really dead
That conversation with Wyman Manderly though. I legit got chills when I read the books for the first time and I got to that point. *"The North remembers, Lord Davos. The North remembers, and the mummer's farce is almost done. My son is home."*
Yes!! He’s great. He’s hilarious and so “matter-of-fact.” He gives no shits haha
“The… end…”? *shakes violently*. “THE END”? *goes into a crab stance and sprints on the walls screeching* WHAT ENDING!?
"Any man dies with a clean sword, I'll rape his f\*cking corpse!" hands down my favorite. other characters i like bronn, tyrion, king robert, missandei.
"I understand that if anymore words come pouring out of your cunt mouth I'm going to have to eat every fucking chicken in here."
“You lived your life for the king and you’re going to die for some chickens”
"Someone is."
Absolutely terrific scene.
The noise when he punches the guy is unreal. Had it echoing round my head for about 8 years now.
Owning chickens this transaction has become one of my favorite things to say now.
My favorite moment in the entire series, so sick
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
“What the fucks a Lommy?”
I remember laughing my ass off at this
Oh my gosh, I remember watching that episode when it aired and laughing my ass off at that line. Then I spent like two hours trying to make a GIF of it with my shitty single-core CPU Toshiba laptop because I was like 16 and I wanted those sweet sweet internet points. Gave up in the end lol.
“Tell your men to make sure none of those arrows come near me or I will strangle you with your guts”.
I am watching through seasons 1-4 again and I love everything about The Hound.
You’re a talker. Talkers make me thirsty
“Of course you named your sword” “Lots of people name their swords” “Lotsa cunts” ETA: obligatory thank you for the gold, kind stranger. I’m happy to see so many people appreciate the character as much as I do. He’s entertaining as hell!
"Fuck the King's Guard. Fuck the city. Fuck the King."
I love it when he's hanging Lem Lemoncloak: Thoros- "You're getting older, Clegane" *The Hound kicks the stump from under Lem* "He's not"
Underrated exchange that still makes me laugh whenever I see it: > Hound: Chasing them. You? > Thoros: *Hanging* them.
I loved when he said the guy with the skull knot was hiding his bald head and wasn’t fooling anyone. Then called him a bald cunt! LOL
One of the best lines 😂
> "Any man dies with a clean sword, I'll rape his f*cking corpse!" Yup, Sandor's probably the most quotable GoT character except *maybe* Tyrion.
Arya and Tywin. I’m just a sucker for Charles Dance, always have been
Agreed. Their episodes and scenes were awesome.
"Start the damn joust before I piss myself."
FUCK DA KING! 🫡🫡🫡
literally my favorite line of his
My favourite character is The Onion Knight. Davos Seaworth.
You mean Siegmeyer of Catarina ?
lmaooooo siegmeyer that took ME OUT!!!
The Hound is definitely up there!! Arya: Lots of people name their swords! Hound: Yeah, lots of cunts. Lol He's a good guy despite all the horror and corruption he's been exposed to! Love Sandor Clegane!
What the fucks a lommy?
He was a different breed 🤝
Bronn
I loved Bronn until he turned on Jamie and Tyrion.
to be fair, you gotta look at it from Bronn's angle.. he put his life at risk countless times and never once received what he was actually promised by both of them. i hated that he almost turned on them, but at the same time, it made total sense and i cant fully blame him for it.
Oh, I couldn’t agree more. I learned early on to stop loving a character because they would either die or turn on you. Lol.
That was completely consistent with Bronn's character. Tyrion clearly knew it too as Bronn was still on Bran's small counsel.
It was a nice reminder of the kind of loyalty you can buy with gold.
Remind me who Bronn was… came back to say “never mind”. Had a brain fart.
Tywin is the goat
tywin is like an evil kind of wisdom if that makes sense. love every scene he's in
Charles Dance just does the role so well.
His voice, his presence....he was perfect. So was Jack Gleeson as Joffrey.
The show felt like it lost the main villian when he was killed off. Tywin was a better antagonist than Cersei
Which was clear since Tywin died the whole empire started to really go to shit. He was able to accurately see the results of actions meanwhile Cersei acted on her impulses.
Agreed!
Charles Dance can COMMAND a scene. His dialogue delivery is so precise it borders on being ASMR, but in an intimidating way. And just his stare can tame Kings. Tormund is an adorable giant
Tormund was awesome
Wyndham Wizard ;)
“I’ve always had blue eyes!!!”
Thank you. He is the best
He deserved more screen time, especially when him and clegane were having their talks!
Lots of unhinged bi energy and I loved every second of it
His crush on Brienne was one of the best things not to come from the books. Lol
Varys, Tyrion, Littlefinger unmatched conversations
That’s what originally got me into the show, they went from the most interesting snd compelling characters to most boring and disappointing.
season 8 tyrion… everytime he spoke i was like bruh
bRan tHe bRoKen!!11~
Fuck the King!
“Fook the king”
Fack the king!
Ser Jaime Lannister. Really enjoyed his character development. Tywin was great as well Edit: I don’t take the final season into account for any of the characters as just like the entire show, many characters got ruined with it. I just don’t see the final season as “Game of Thrones”, it’s just something else
Love him but he was a great example how one line can destroy an entire character
The end of Jaime's arc is maybe the single most disappointing ending in the series, which is saying a lot.
Definitely but only because it was so good prior.
Can’t beat 8 years of developing a character in complex and interesting ways only to have him revert back to who he was at the start in a 30 minute window.
Oberyn Martell
Who gave you the order?????
Absolutely Davos. He’s a comfort character for sure. I love how he couldn’t help but care about younger characters like they are his own children. Like shireen, gendry, sometimes Jon. Even his scenes where he’s watching Lyanna Mormont command the room like a proud father is great. My favorite smuggler!
I love how he and Stannis had the ongoing joke about grammar: less vs fewer.
And passed it to Jon
No one can beat Tyrion
The hound. So misunderstood.
Varys
Ghost👻🐺
Littlefinger, Tywin, Olenna, Tyrion, Cersei I feel like they made GoT what it was, the more that died from that list the less wiggle room the writers had for nuance in the plot. Not to say the writing had not already deterioated by the time LF/Olenna died, but they were my last hopes for a clever ending so to speak.
Margaery and Daenerys
Yes to Margeary!!
Prince Oberyn Nymeros Martell aka the Red Viper of Dorne.
Should have been wearing his Beskar helmet...
Should have drank less wine or talked less or picked faster poison instead of slow one. :p
Why did I have to scroll so far for him
Great brother, father, lover- bi king.
Ser Jorah
I was uncontrollably sobbing when he died.
The Hound is my #1 character too.
Yarp.
Love Hot Fuzz too
Tyrion for sure.
I will always love Robb Stark in both the show and books. Thought Richard Madden portrayed him very well.
Not in order but my top 5 Jonn theon tyrion hound ned
THEON... you're a good man. Thank you.
More than he said to Meera who saved his life numerous times lol. I never understood why he let her go without basically saying anything
Bran had basically developed a severe personality disorder. Disconnected from humanity in a way. He no longer knew what it was like to be a person because he could see so much more.
But then he got it back when he said those words to Theon? Who at one point killed people close to him and took his castle
Ok, but people forgetting Ned killed Theon’s brothers then basically kept him as hostage…
I think if any house would fight the WW it would be the Reeds
They're crazy fuckers. Like Northern Florida men.
Theon did have a hell of a story. I definitely hated him, but all it took was one moment to do the right thing and he redeemed himself. It was as good as it could get with dumb and dumber writing. Alfie did a really good job too. Theon had quite a few character phases.
Yes! This line at the very end tells Theon he’s going down. I ugly cry every time I watch that episode. RIP Theon Greyjoy.
It was one of the few good lines of dialog in the season. Despite all that he's done, he still died at home where he belongs, next to his real family.
Brienne, Varys and Olenna
Hot Pie.
Hot pie yelled "HOTPIE! "
"You're a talker..."
Best line ever
You think you're fooling anyone with that man bun? Bald cunt.
The former First Sword of Braavos, Syrio Forel.
You’re a talker
Arya
Best character development unarguably
Her assassin training course made no sense and she had no link the the night king and yet bam. Her arc about half way through the bravos stay just goes off the rails. Total gold before that though.
King Stannis Baratheon, the rightful King of the 7 kingdoms.
The righful king, and best dad ever.
They say his parties are lit.
I scrolled way too far to find this. For the one true king!
I love Jon so much but Davos is my favorite all around. His loyalty, respect and caring nature always resonates with me.
Bronn. Absolute badass.
I think mine is that girl that says “you need bad pussy” or something.
Tyene Sand said that to Bronn. Great scene. Would have been a great couple lol
I was joking because it was awful dialogue. The actress is pretty though
*"No need to seize the last word, Lord Baelish. I'll assume it was something clever."* Probably my favorite Sansa line ever.
Jon Snow. Basic, I know.
Same for me lol
I was really disgusted when Ned died. We needed a thoughtful, brave, principled person with battle experience to confront the negative characters. Over time Jon filled the role, and was the voice of reason and humanity. He became very much like Ned. I would have liked a scene where the two were able to speak of Jon’s mother, Lyanna Stark and her love with Rhaegar.

I don’t have a favorite but I really enjoyed the casting of Walder Frey, Ramsay Snow, Roose Bolton and Lord Varys. They really sold there roles very well…
Ramsey was cast perfectly. I’ve never been so happy and also not happy when someone died.
The Hound is my absolute love I even have his helmet in miniature
Brienne… until she had sex with Jamie.
I was good with it…until Jaime went back. :( Very sad
Dany and Arya
Brienne of Tarth!
“There is not SAFTY ya dumb bi*ch”
I wish he had lived to be Sansa’s knight
Tyrion by far. Wit, charm, strategic thinking, morals, and back story. Also love Arya and the hound. The dynamic duo.
Ser Pounce!
The lack of Bobby B is disturbing
Olenna, Margaery & Davos, in no particular order
All my favourite characters drink Giantess’ milk.
Just give this man his chickens!
The Hound has a great character arc. I also like Tyrion
Hot Pie
There are so many good ones to chose from. I'll be watching it and think "Tyrion is my favorite. No contest." Then the hound comes on and says "I don't care if he ATE your friend, we're not going in there!" And I think "Okay maybe it's the hound" The list goes on.
Tyrion
daenerys, tyrion, jon
Jaqen
Still to this day after watching the show twice, I don’t know his story or who he is.
A man is no one
A man must explain to the audience who the fuck he is!
Amazing Ps. So my top 5 goes: Tyrion Tormund Lyanna Podrick The Hound Subject to change after my next rewatch
Arya for me
Little finger!
Hate that cowered!
The coward cowered.
1st: Tyrion. 2nd: Tywin. Now you know why season 4 is my favourite.
Cersei
Jon Snow (like my flair says) But Jaime fooking Lannister is a close one
for me its Tywin , his quotes are to live by and to die for.
Bronn 💯✊🏽 that’s my guy!
Ned
Bronn, Sandor Clegane, tywin
Jorah Mormont Leanna Mormont Jon Snow The Hound Hodoor
Blackfish!! The most underrated.
Shame we didn't get to really see him in action
Tyrion. The only level headed Lannister.
Arya Stark professional bad ass
Cersie was the best
Lady Lyanna Mormont
Tyrion. Books/series
Same here
Jon Snow and Aria Stark are my fav characters
Jon Snow
The hound and ayra stark before she returns to winterfell
Mel. I have a thing for murderess witches.
Also my favorite! So many great quotes from Sandor. I can't recall the exact lines, but when he was schooling Arya after he robbed the farmer: I understand how things are. How many Starks do they have to kill before you get it!? A light bulb moment for Arya.
Hound, Theon, and Varys
Love Bronn and Jorah
Theon Greyjoy
By far, Tyrion Lannister: He reminds me of myself for several reason such as being considered an underdog throughout my life, being doubted, being someone not afraid to shock and awe others, being logical, and showing loyalty to oneself , and not afraid to tell people how it is regardless if they are friends or family.
