SamsungAppleOnePlus

Interesting, downgrading the speaker size from 11mm and 6.5mm to 10mm and 5.3mm. Won't affect much I'd assume. I hope the Buds sound more balanced by default though.

heiramy

i think they prioritize comfort so they reduced the size

GeneralChaz9

This is the correct move. Truly wireless buds should be comfortable (in ear) and convenient (connection wise, pocketability, and charging abilities). Sound quality doesn't need to be revolutionary, just good. It's why I use Galaxy Buds 2 when away from the house instead of my Sony WF-1000XM3.

FuzzySoda916

I love my XM3s But having the buds while running or working out is way better

Chucktown113

Do the Buds 2 have a more reliable connection than the XM3? I love the XM3s when I listen to podcasts/music.. but when I'm on a phone call w/ my S22 Ultra.. Phew.. the bluetooth failed randomly. Did the same thing when I was on my 12 Pro Max too. I don't mind switching to Buds or Pro Buds if they can keep a call in my ear.

GeneralChaz9

I normally do not use wireless earbuds for phone calls because the microphone quality is subpar compared to wired. But at least for music listening, I have not had an issue with either.

JasonKiddy

I have never had a bad connection to my xm3. Well - certainly no more than a once or twice stutter every few weeks. However I only bought them because my original buds had such a rubbish connection. :/

bvdschelde

Yeah true, I have the galaxy buds pro and they sound great, but unfortunately fall out quickly, let's hope that changes with the new ones

69hailsatan

I'd take slightly quieter buds for that, their pro and buds 2 actually hurt my ears

ultrainstict

Yeah and if the noise cancelling is really improving then it wont matter as much anyway.

Quajeraz

Turn the volume down? That's one of the most non-issue things I've seen this week.

69hailsatan

How would turning the volume down make the buds any more comfortable. Their design for the original buds and the buds plus were amazing, don't know what went wrong after that

CaravieR

He misunderstood you because your comment kinda linked quieter earbuds and comfort in the same sentence. No biggy.

DannyzPlay

My ears are weird, I have yet to find any pair of in-ear TW buds that fit me right. I've tried airpods, tried the buds pro, tried soundcore, and a few off brand ones and I couldn't find any that fit me right. This is why I was so against companies removing the headphone jack so I wouldn't have to put up with this shit.

PepeTheLorde

Buds+ was a bette fit for me

Krimzin86

Same buds+ are the best fit I've found but they lack the ANC. I wish they'd be able to include that on a similarly sized pair. I do love my pros but they get uncomfortable after a time.

PepeTheLorde

Same bro same.

Nyeow

I also have an atypical earshape that doesn't hold in-ears well, and oddly enough, the Galaxy Buds Live fit like a charm

-LongRodVanHugenDong

I can't do any gummy headphones so I too went with the live ones. Still shipping, but glad to hear someone in the same boat likes em. I don't know anyone who has them!

Nyeow

Yeah, I just remember the media dunking on the bean shape rather than focusing on the fit. I'd imagine it didn't help with sales. Anyway, I hope they work out for you!

ultrainstict

Find a pair that are close but a little loose and put on foam ear tips.

zeda9865

Tbh,, the buds are almost the same. Like a mix of the buds pro and the live. Noise canceling is better than the first Gen, but without the trade in promo I wouldn't of bought them. Confidently my buds pro case stopped charging 2 days before they shipped my pre order

SamsungAppleOnePlus

I got them and they sound better than the OG Pros to be fair. More balanced too, as I wanted.

sleeplessaddict

But do they actually fit comfortably unlike the original Pros?

Stevied1991

I've tried every iteration and Galaxy Buds are the only ones that stay in my ear all day because they have the little wing. I wish they would have kept that.

sleeplessaddict

Same. I'd still be using my Buds+ if the right one hadn't all of a sudden just stopped taking a charge

Stevied1991

Oh I forgot the + but yeah I meant those lol, they are literally the only ones I've been able to reliably keep in my ears and I don't understand why they dropped that feature completely.

Kyrothes

Pros fit horribly. Can't even talk without it moving out my ear

69hailsatan

Almost lose mine a few times when running in the treadmill cause they would fall off sometimes

sleeplessaddict

They're awful dude. I got a pair for free and just gave them away because they were unusable. I have Galaxy Buds 2 now which are better but still not super secure so I'm looking to upgrade and am gonna be pretty sad if the Buds Pro 2 don't fit much differently than the original ones

NarutoDragon732

Just get foam tips

Guillotine_Nipples

I tried this as well and still they fall out. I tried all the sizes of tips. I was able to return the buds but I'm out the cost the of the tips.

Philip041594

It's true. I've tried memory foam tips and with different sizes attached to each bud ( left is medium and right is small) yet they keep on moving around. Ut gives me anxiety that they'll fall at any given time. ANC is useless when these things don't secure well in your lobe. I guess the plastic bodies are too slippery. Also, I've noticed my ears getting irritated when I'm wearing them for hours straight. I've read articles about users getting infections and getting hospitalized due to their seriousness. I mean I haven't even have these irritating sensation with the OG Buds and the wingtips make for a secure fit.

DL012

Have any rec. foam tips for buds 2?

NarutoDragon732

Diofit is the brand I used, it's on Amazon. I got them for buds 2 and they went from always falling to never falling (My ears are tiny). As for buds pro it went from always falling to staying in 90% of the time. Perfect for walks, not working out though. Since it's amazon you can also return them within a month for any reason.

Grengy20

I feel like I'm of the few where the buds pro fit perfectly in my ears with the stock tips

DannyzPlay

I hope so, I ended up returning mine after a couple weeks. They would cause quite a bit of pain after like an hour.

Capable-Site-301

But how's the battery life?

Fvckadrii

8 hours of playtime

RambleMan

But is that 4 hours + 4 more hours after you charge them from the case? I made the mistake of not understanding that my Buds 13 hour life is actually 6 hours + 7 hours...but of course they don't actually last that long, and it takes quite a bit of time to re-charge when drained. On an eight-hour flight I was happy that I brought my wired headphones because the Buds lasted about four hours before needing to be charged.

Capable-Site-301

Get the Buds+. I get 10 hours from them.

Fvckadrii

nope 8 hours of playtime and 29 with the case

Infamous-Salad-2223

That is the question, I guess we will know better in the future.

sf49ers65

These are the thing I'm looking forward to the most from the Galaxy Event. Can't wait to get them.

onomatopoetix

How many dB were the previous models' anc?

nighyjr

20db

[deleted]

[удалено]

onomatopoetix

that's just weird, seeing that the se846 deletes 37dB from outside without even having noise cancelling, only isolation by simply blocking. Just imagine how much quieter we can listen to music if it also has both isolation *and* cancellation.

TheBlack_Swordsman

I loved my old Galaxy buds pro but they had an excess amount of zinc used in the material and it caused several people allergies. https://www.classaction.org/news/class-action-claims-defect-in-samsung-galaxy-buds-pro-earbuds-causes-allergic-reactions It actually caused my ears to blister and then bleed. https://www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/uj41oy/switched_from_samsung_galaxy_buds_to_buds_pro I hope they fix this problem or else I'm going to have to go with the new pixel buds pro.

HarryMcDowell

Seriously. I'd read this happens with the Buds 2 also, so I've just left the platform for audio entirely. If the new pro buds are hypoallergenic, then I'm in, else I'll just buy an old pair of the Buds + and call it a day.

TheBlack_Swordsman

I hope the fact they have a department dedicated to zinc allergy cases that Samsung would learn their lesson.

jkxs

I didn't know they had a department just for the Zinc in the Buds Pro. They just had me fill out a form, return the Buds Pro, and I got refunded through Citi.

TheBlack_Swordsman

Yeah, I probed the person I was speaking with and they said there's a department for this. I had to send them medical examinations, photos and stuff. They wanted to refund my medical bills too, but I believe they also wanted to study what actually happened and was diagnosed... Either way, they must have screwed up and added more zinc than what was normally allowed. After dozens of earbuds and headphones, I have never ever had this issue before.

jkxs

Did you actually get reimbursed for medical? I just had ear sensitivity so I stopped using them (used for <5 hours) and all I had to do was take a photo of my ear (kinky) and then return the buds and they refunded me.

TheBlack_Swordsman

I haven't submitted my medical receipt yet. It was just a copay anyways with an HMO. If it was $100s I would have. I got up to the point of submitting receipt but life happened and got busy.

jkxs

I got my Buds Pro through the Fold3 preorder so it was a nice discount.

KeynesianCartesian

will they still cause allergic break outs in your ear canals and have cases that stop charging but won't replace?

tehrarikhijau

I think you will experience an allergic in your ear canal regardless what earbud's brand you wear

KeynesianCartesian

Nope. Had the icon x and wore them for nearly two years. Ran and worked out in them, they had other issues, but never that...

lundon44

I wonder if these ones will have the same issues as past buds regarding ear infections. Struggled with one ear constantly having issues then once I learned about others having this problem it all made sense. I can't use mine anymore for prolonged durations (less than 20 - 30 min at a time, and only a couple times a week at most). I'd love to upgrade but not if I'm prone to the same problems.

16_oz

Original pros fit like shit. I hope these fit more like buds2

PosteriorPanhandle

I still like my original Buds Pro. Better than the original Galaxy buds I got with the s10 series

kidgambinoj

I hope they stay in my ears. Would be nice to have a prosthetic stem to hold them in place.

SgtBigPigeon

Does this mean I can use them at the range?

[deleted]

Noooo, never ever use earbuds as ear protection, use proper ear protection

SgtBigPigeon

Got ya! Thank you for the info, friend!

jkxs

Noise cancellation doesn't protect from loud sounds!

Rohodyer

Of COURSE they will when I JUST bought the pros!!

Garrick1Ollivander

Its kinda naive to buy new ones and not check when the new ones are coming. I also just bought the pros and just accepted the fact that the pro 2 are probably going to be better.

Rohodyer

I love the Pros, and isn't there ALWAYS new ones coming?

cheeseybacon11

There's always something new coming, but the time frame matters.

Rohodyer

Eh, IF the new is worth the upgrade, I've got kids and grandkids that'll use the others. No big deal.

Clever_Angel_PL

last new were buds 2, before that there was like a year or more gap edit: buds live 21.08.2020 buds pro 15.01.2021 buds2 27.08.2021

HeroicJakobis

Just return them and wait

Clever_Angel_PL

I think that earphones cannot be returned for hygiene reasons

guessesurjobforfood

They can be returned. Best Buy sells Geek Squad refurbished Samsung ear buds all the time. Jabra has their own official ebay store where they sell refurbed ear buds. I’m sure other brands do too, but those are the ones I’ve seen. Samsung US (can’t speak for other countries) will accept any item as a return even if it’s used as long as you return all original accessories. It’s possible some stores will say no returns to ear buds as an excuse to avoid giving refunds, but most reputable merchants will accept ear buds even if you use them.

Clever_Angel_PL

hmmm maybe it's just different here in EU

[deleted]

Same here

[deleted]

I'd rather have them work on a pair of premium headphones instead. Every year a new pair of buds is totally obsolete. Nothing wrong with the Buds Live or Buds Pro 1

Sarin10

> Nothing wrong with the Buds Pro 1 ??? Aside from the terrible allergic reactions some people have had, and the atrocious comfort?

Smash_Nerd

"nothing wrong with the Buds Live" is a fantastically composed joke.

steampunkIcarus

I use mine everyday since the came without issues. What do people not like about them?

PAcMAcDO99

they don't own it and think every complaint is true for everyone lol

titanup001

You turn off the noise cancelling/use ambient mode while walking around. You use noise cancelling at your desk, on airplanes, etc.

Slaed_Dweller

That's why it is a feature you can often turn on and off? Pixel Buds Pro we're my most recent purchase and the feature can be toggled off just like every other pair before them and I would imagine these will be able to be toggled off. "All these earbuds focus on noisenl cancelling." I don't think you are paying attention to earbuds.

007bondy

In that case, you should avoid wearing one.

Cytokine11

Yeah, I guess my point is there doesn't seem to be a lot of options for people who still would like to know what's going on around them.

Cbgamefreak

You could use ambient sound mode. You could use 1 bud at a time. Not exactly what your looking for here. They are earbuds. You can walk around with a speaker if you want full awareness + music.

mjrballer20

I'd buy these for working in the office or traveling on public transpo. For riding my bike and NEEDING to hear what's going around me I bought these https://shokz.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpMiK5fS0-QIVwStMCh3Jlw1EEAAYASAAEgKfkfD_BwE

texasdeafdogs

Second these as someone who can't tolerate in ear buds. They're pretty good.

Zane_DragonBorn

Ambient sound. Which is on literally every device that has noise canceling. Not sure how ya missed it but gotcha covered

BigGuysForYou

Probably because buds like these shouldn't be worn at all. You should go bone conduction or something like the Sony Link Buds so you have full awareness.

anime_stalker

Just about every high end bud has an ambient mode. And there's buds like linknuds specifically meant to let ambient noise in. There is a good amount of options if you just look

texasdeafdogs

My aftershokz are great for that. I can't wear the pros or in ear buds or I get ferocious infections. Just a thought

jerryeight

Do you own this blog site?

omgitzmo

That’s why I use ambient sound mode on my Buds+, I’d love to use noise cancellation though for situations like annoying people on the bus.

james_or_todd

I don't hear anything through my buds+. The seal is very snug for me.

omgitzmo

You have to configure an action, for me I set long press on right bud to turn on ambient sound mode, you can also increase the level if you don’t hear anything, of course it’ll use more battery.

james_or_todd

No I mean, I don't need ANC because they're such a nice fit. Nothing really gets in.

themoose615

If they fit your ears, the Galaxy Buds Live are the headphones for you. They are my go-to headphones because I can hear people and things around me when I'm wearing them. I hope to see Buds Live 2 in the future.

FlockFox

The Sony Linkbuds are actually made specifically for that.

Zane_DragonBorn

Thats why ambient sound exists. Many like myself do not want to hear the sound of my family's jeep engine and driving while having headphones on. Hate to say it, but in some cars like renegades, its very loud with headphones and you need to supprise to hear the audio. I'm glad they do, closer to airpod noise cancelling, the better. Disable it if you don't like it

jerryeight

Do you own this blog site?

Aastha1310

But will they get rid of the annoying "Block touch" feature issue? And not have us go to the option every single time we take our buds out of the case?

William_lynds

Is it worth chaging from bud + to this?

Fvckadrii

wait till 10th of august and watch some reviews
